The International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) is a nonprofit education and research organization with a mission “to inform, assist, and support people affected by gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. It was founded in 1991 and has grown to become the organization that it is today that works to support research and improve digestive health in all people around the world.
The IFFGD website has information about various GI disorders and users can browse the categories in the first tab. There are also other sections for managing your health with nutrition tips, symptoms, and more as well as a directory to find a doctor. There are also various resources with publications, videos, blogs, and more – in English and Spanish.
Activism & Research
If you want to get involved with advocating for GI disorder awareness and research, you can join the organization’s efforts on Capitol Hill for its National Advocacy Event. Users can also get involved in research by taking part in a research study after browsing the various available clinical trials and studies on the site.
In the Personal Stories section of the website, real people share their journeys with GI disorders and offer helpful tips. These stories can show users that other people deal with the same issues and can inspire people to take control of their conditions.
